PURPOSE OF THE POSITION :
The Compensation and Benefits Assistant provides essential administrative support in the implementation, and management of the organization’s remuneration and employee programs. This role ensures that internal HR data is accurate, serves as the primary liaison with our third-party payroll
provider (while supporting in-house payroll as needed), manages all government-mandated and organizational benefit programs, and helps maintain compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the end-to-end administration of all statutory benefits (e.g., SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG).
- Facilitate employee enrollments, updates to member data records, and the processing of statutory loans.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting and remittance schedules in compliance with government agency
regulations. - Act as the primary point of contact for the third-party payroll provider, ensuring smooth communication and timely resolution of any discrepancies or technical issues.
- Prepare, consolidate, and validate monthly payroll variables (e.g., absences, bonuses, statutory deductions, and new hire data) for secure transmission to the external payroll vendor.
- Provide support for in-house payroll administration as needed, which may include processing special payouts, calculating final pay for offboarding employees, or acting as a backup for internal payroll functions.
- Assist employees with enrollment in HMO/health insurance, retirement plans, and other company-sponsored benefit programs.
- Act as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding company benefit coverage, claim
procedures, and eligibility. - Draft and distribute company-wide communications and announcements regarding any updates, open
enrollments, or changes to compensation and benefits policies. - Serve as the dedicated point of contact for foreign employees, guiding them through and processing their specific benefit-related reimbursements (e.g., health insurance, life insurance claims)
- Process monthly billings from private benefit providers and reconcile them against internal records to ensure accuracy.
- Organize and maintain digital and physical employee files related to compensation, contracts, and confidential records.
- Assist in the preparation of materials for government audits or internal compliance reviews.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or any related field
- 1-4 years of related experience
- Tech-savvy
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools, Xero, HRIS knowledge is an advantage
- Familiarity with HRIS software and government online portals
- Strong understanding of basic data privacy principles to ensure employee information is protected
- Knowledge with payroll administration
- Fluent in both verbal and written English
