ADDRESSING CHILD LABOUR IN THE COCONUT OIL SUPPLY CHAIN: Evidence, Tools, and Good Practices from the Philippines
Based on the lessons, experiences and challenges from the project “Protecting the Rights of Children in Coconut Oil Supply Chain – Philippines”, this document serves as a practical guide for a multistakeholder approach to addressing child labor risks in the coconut oil supply chain, with the Child Labor Monitoring and Remediation System (CLMRS) as a central pillar.
DIWA’s role in phase 2 of the project (2021-2025) involved working with companies to strengthen internal systems for child protection, and develop and implement an effective supplier management framework, situating child labor prevention within broader Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD).
